I am a neuroradiologist, clinician-researcher in brain tumor imaging, vice chair of education, and program director of diagnostic radiology residency at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) with the following key accomplishments.
Over the past two decades, my colleagues at UCSF and my peers both nationally and internationally have come to recognize me as an outstanding clinician, with expertise in brain tumor imaging, and as a skillful leader in radiology education and training. I am humbled by that recognition and have found professional fulfillment through my clinical work as a neuroradiologist and embraced my passion for education as the program director of radiology residency. In collaboration with many outstanding students, trainees, physicians, and scientists, I have been able to conduct and lead scientific research funded by the NIH for 16 years and have published over 180 peer-reviewed articles.
Program Director, Diagnostic Radiology Residency (2012-present)
Recruited, trained, and led 56 residents each year for the past nine years and maintained the
number one ranked Radiology Residency Program in the nation for the past seven consecutive years. Led the residency program design, curriculum development, safety and quality improvement and assurance process, resident recruitment, and relationship building and management. Maintained and enhanced a resident-centric approach and a commitment to ensuring academic excellence and patient care. Brought new technological tools into the clinical learning environment to further engage and capture resident interest and to promote lifelong learning.
Vice Chair of Education (2016-present)
Developed and implemented innovative academic, research, and clinical programs to attract and retain residents, fellows, and junior faculty. Energized academic offerings and enhanced career and professional development outcomes for trainees and junior faculty. Defined the mission and vision of the postgraduate continuing medical education programs to offer high quality courses and seminars to national and international audiences. Engaged radiology technologists and nurses in the educational process by offering seminars and symposia specifically gear toward their continued educational needs and built collaborative working relationships.
Associate Program Director, Integrated Interventional Radiology (IR) Residency (2018-present)
Worked closely with the Interventional Radiology section and IR program directors to create a new Integrated IR Residency program, recruit residents, refine training curriculum, and assess competency of residents.
Principal Investigator, Neuroimaging, Brain Tumor Research Center (2002-present)
Conducted scientific and clinical research and published over 180 peer review articles.
