Dr. Smith is a pediatric and adult anesthesiologist practicing at both CHLA and Keck USC hospitals. He is also an attorney admitted to the California state bar. He has a BS in Bioengineering from UCSD, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, another MS in Physiology from Georgetown University, a JD from Duke University, and an MD from George Washington University. He did anesthesiology residency at the University of Maryland Medical center and then fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins, where he stayed on as an attending before joining the faculty at USC in 2020. His academic interests include health policy, health law, and quality improvement. He is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committees on Professional Liability and Governmental Affairs.
