61st Clinical Conference in Pediatric Anesthesiology
February 3 - 5, 2023

Welcome

On behalf of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Foundation, we are thrilled to welcome you back to Anaheim, California for the 61st Clinical Conference in Pediatric Anesthesiology.  While amusement parks are a huge draw, we hope that the lectures we have chosen for this year are equally exciting.  Listening to you as the audience influences our topic selections and we try to play off of the strengths of our speakers.  We are confident that we have a great program again this year.  We cannot fully anticipate the extent to which COVID-19 will impact travel and attendance. However, as many other national meetings have done, we have decided to bring back a fully IN PERSON meeting at the Disneyland® Hotel commencing Friday, February 3 and concluding on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

We are looking forward to seeing you again starting on Friday evening. We will adjourn in time to watch the Disneyland fireworks and we hope that gives people a chance to catch up with each other.  To start, we would like to thank our returning speakers who have been so supportive of this conference over the years.  Dr. Jerrold Lerman will be back to talk about new drugs that will be available to us in anesthesia. On Saturday he will review the most influential recent pediatric anesthesia manuscripts.  Dr. Tiffany Frazee returns to the meeting this year and will introduce and interview the Digby Leigh Speaker, Dr. James Fehr, who is joining us from Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.

We would also like to introduce our new Program Director starting with this year’s meeting. Dr. Connie Mun-Price has graciously taken on this role and hopes we can continue to grow the meeting. We are excited about new speakers joining us for the first time at our Clinical Conference:  Mary Landrigan-Ossar MD PhD from Boston Children’s Hospital, Kim Strupp MD from Children’s Hospital Colorado, and Dr. Romy Yun from Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.  In addition, we have an agenda full of internal speakers from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles who are ready to share their knowledge as leaders in the field of pediatric anesthesiology. Finally, we are repeating another round of Jeopardy on Saturday afternoon which should engage the audience.

Planning and preparing for a meeting during such unusual times is very much a team effort. We want to recognize that we wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of Paola Padilla and Rosie Zesati MAM C-TAGME in collaboration with the team at Disney®, Ruggles, and Showgear AV.  We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
