Vanessa Mazandi is an attending physician in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She is board certified in pediatrics (Boston Children's Hospital/Boston Medical Center), anesthesiology (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), pediatric critical care medicine (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) and pediatric anesthesiology (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia). Her research is primarily in traumatic brain injury under the mentorship of Drs. Todd Kilbaugh and Jimmy Huh. She is actively involved in research and education on pediatric difficult airway management as a member of Chop's AirEquip team, recently co-directing "Cutting Edge Topiics in Pediatric Airway Management," as well as ultrasound education, with a particular focus on utilizing ultrasound to perform neuraxial anesthesia and point of care ultrasound in the pediatric intensive care unit. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, running, skiing and transitioning into a new role, that of soccer mom.
