Bio

Dr. O’Brien is an attending anesthesiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her anesthesia residency at Dartmouth Medical Center and 2-year academic pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at CHOP with a focus on outcomes research. She then completed her Master of Applied Science in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. O’Brien’s academic interests include quality improvement, perioperative outcomes in neurodiverse children, point-of-care ultrasound and pediatric airway management. Clinically, Dr. O’Brien is passionate about pediatric pain management and serves on CHOP’s Acute Pain Team.
