Bio

Dr. Kovatsis is currently an Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School and a Senior Associate in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care & Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.  He specializes in airway management and anesthesia for transplantation. He is the Director of the Anesthesia Advanced Airway Management Service and of the Anesthesia for Transplantation Team at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Kovatsis is a leading international expert in pediatric airway management. He cofounded the Pediatric Difficult Intubation (PeDI) Registry and the PeDI Collaborative which is an international consortium of providers dedicated to improving the care of pediatric patients during airway management. His publications include research published in high-impact journals such as The Lancet and the British Journal of Medicine.
