Dr. Cheng is the Patient Safety and Human Factors Engineering and Education director for Kaiser Permanente's Southern California regional markets since 2006. He also serves as the national consultant for all Kaiser markets from spanning from Hawaii to Virginia where he leads the TeamSTEPPS patient safety education and communication program in partnership with the American Hospital Association. In addition to bringing expertise on communication training to the ASA subcommittees and task forces on Well-being, he serves as a consultant with NASA on implementation processes for decision support tools in healthcare and also holds a certification for improvement science with the Improvement for Healthcare Insititute.
