This workshop will be dedicated to the acquisition of basic perioperative point of care ultrasound skills and provide an update on the latest regional ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks. The workshop will offer training on a “whole-body” ultrasound examination designed to expand all anesthesiologists’ skills with cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, and vascular ultrasound. The workshop will also cover the latest topics in regional anesthesia including fascial plane blocks, PECS blocks, adductor canal, popliteal, as well as review traditional ultrasound guided nerves blocks.  Most of the time will be devoted to hands-on training and a mini lecture per station.

Session Learning Objectives:

• Review the use of point of care ultrasound in the perioperative medicine setting with a primary focus on the expansion of the utility of ultrasound for the general anesthesiologist.
• Learn fundamental cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, vascular, and airway point of care ultrasound topics under a validated perioperative educational curriculum (FORESIGHT: Focused periOperative Risk Evaluation Sonography Involving Gastro-abdominal, Hemodynamic, and Trans-thoracic ultrasound).
• Highlight the latest regional ultrasound procedures and provide a review of traditional ultrasound guided nerve blocks.
• Provide substantial hands-on training to both regional anesthesia and point of care ultrasound topics.
