Dr. Reece-Nguyen [he/him] is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford Children’s Hospital where he serves as a diversity, equity, and inclusion leader in his department, throughout Stanford Medicine, and at the National level as Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia.
As a cisgender gay man, Dr. Reece-Nguyen understands the importance of LGBTQIA+ advocacy work and the ever-increasing need for improved LGBTQIA+ medical education, focusing specifically on the value of gender-affirming perioperative care. In his role as the Medical Director of the Gender Recognition and Affirmative Care through Education (GRACE) Program at Stanford Children’s Hospital, Dr. Reece-Nguyen’s work promotes perioperative education, quality improvement, and research efforts aimed at improving the healthcare experience for all transgender and gender-diverse adolescents.
