Dr. Jay Shen is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at UC Irvine Health. He did his anesthesia residency at UC Irvine and subsequently completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at Loma Linda University. Aside from his clinical responsibilities, he has served as an Interim Director of the Cardiac ICU and he is currently the Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound of his department. His main focus has always been education. He has taught POCUS workshops at both the state and national level, at conferences such as the California Society of Anesthesiologist and American Society of Anesthesiologist. Dr. Shen has also given national board review lectures in critical care medicine and organized webinars for the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists. Ultimately, Dr. Shen’s hope is that all future anesthesiologists will become empowered in their own learning and find their passion and intricate style in the vast field of anesthesiology.
